Modern Warfare 3: Hacked Lobbies

So it's finally happened.  Well, I happened before too, but this is my first experience, and it seems to be spreading.  An unnamed hacker group consisting of large, overweight, acne-ridden and introverted 14-year-olds with stringy hair have created several bugs in the ultra-popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.   Here, I'll tell you how to spot these lobbies and avoid them.  If it's too late and you're already infected, hopefully it's not too late.

The first lobby I ever came in contact with was the knockback lobbies.  This started as a private match mod, but they've (they meaning the hackers) found a way to get it into online matches.  A knockback lobby is easily spotted: when you shoot or get shot, the player is sent flying.  Literally flying.  Check it out:

If you read the description, you will notice that these people are proud of fucking up the most time-consuming game of millions of people worldwide.  What's more, is that Robert Bowling, the Creative Strategist and Lead of Infinity Ward has stepped down amidst the flood of hate-mail regarding the short-comings of this game.  Sure, I have my complaints, but I'm on Mr. Bowling's side.  There shouldn't be any modding whatsoever, and this isn't his fault.

As in the description, the way you get infected with this mod/hack is by accepting invites to a private lobby from people that you don't know or watching a video from someone's vault that is also infected.  My friend did this last night while the video was disguised as a MOAB from his friend's account.  So he watched it.  The rest of our games last night were bugged with this knockback hack.

Along with that video, these hackers are also deranking profiles right down to the beginning.  That's right.  Prestige 0, Rank 1.  If you find yourself being deranked, dashboard immediately.  If you go into another match and you earn any points, your data gets saved and you cannot earn your rank back.  Attempting to earn your rank back through playing will prevent Infinity Ward to fix the problem.  Infinity Ward has claimed that all profiles will be backed up and returned once your individual problem has been recognized.  If you do notice that you have been deranked, Infinity Ward urges you to use the in-game complaint system and then tweet them @infinityward to solve the problem.
